We are looking for a talented Android Developer to work on a cutting-edge, privacy-first mobile app that securely intercepts and resolves DNS traffic using VpnService and DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH). This role is ideal for developers who have a solid foundation in Android development and are looking to grow in areas like DNS, VPN, and privacy. What You’ll Do:

• Develop and implement DNS interception and secure resolution via VpnService.
• Set up and maintain DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) for secure DNS resolution.
• Handle lifecycle management for background services, ensuring auto-start at boot and efficient battery use.
• Integrate with backend APIs over secure RESTful connections.
• Optimize app performance on Android 8+ devices, focusing on battery and background execution limits.
• Work on user consent management, permission handling, and notification systems for a seamless user experience.

What We're Looking For:

• 4+ years of professional Android development experience, with strong Kotlin skills.
• Deep understanding of core Android components such as Services (both foreground and background), Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
• Hands-on experience in networking and API integration (Retrofit, OkHttp, data serialization).
• Familiarity with Kotlin Coroutines for efficient asynchronous programming and multithreading.
• Comfortable using Android Jetpack Components like WorkManager, ViewModel, and LiveData.
• Solid knowledge of Android’s background execution model and permissions system.
• Experience working with Firebase services like Cloud Messaging (FCM) and Crashlytics.

Bonus Skills (Not Required but Nice to Have):

• Experience with VpnService, DNS protocols, or developing privacy-first apps.
• Interest in learning and applying security, networking, and privacy practices in mobile development.
